SDWF activities during Heritage Week

The SDWF are organising two events during Heritage Week, an afternoon of Marine Mania at Kilkee and a whale and dolphin-watch at Loop Head.

On Sunday 27 August there will be an afternoon of Marine Mania from 1-4pm and on Sunday 3 September there will be a whalewatch from Loop Head from 1-3pm.

Marine Mania: An event to introduce children to the marine environment around County Clare. Games, face painting, sand castle competition and education. If weather doesn't permit use of Kilkee Beach, events will be hosted at Shannon Dolphin Centre opposite the marina in Kilrush.

Whalewatch: Learn how to effectively look for whales and dolphins off the coast and learn about other local wildlife. People are encouraged to bring along a picnic. Bring warm/waterproof clothing and binoculars if possible. Parental supervision of children is required.
