Two events for Heritage Week

On Wednesday 7 September the SDWF will be holding a whalewatch at Loop Head from 2-5pm and then show a documentary "Return of the Humpbacks" as part of Heritage week.

At Loop Head we hope to see minke whales which are oftem seen close inshore during the autumn following the herring which spawn off Loop Head. Meet at lighthouse at 2pm. Bring warm clothes and binoculars.

The documentary features humpback whales off the south coast of Ireland and our attempts to locate their breeding grounds off West Africa.

First seen on RTE 2 on Christmas Day 2004. Meet at 8pm at the Shannon Dolphin and Wildlife Centre.
