Irish Humpback whale documentary to be shown in Kilrush

The documentary "The return of the Humpbacks", which follows our attempts to locate the breeding grounds of humpback whales, which are being seen in increasing numbers off the Irish coast, will be shown on Friday 29 April at 7:30pm in the SDWF Centre, Kilrush.

The documentary features Clare based yachtsman, Joe Aston, and SDWF Manager Dr Simon Berrow as they sail from Ireland to the Cape Verdes off West Africa.

This documentary is part of Shannon Dol-fun 2005 which includes a whale and dolphin watch from Loop Head on Saturday (30 April) afternoon (bus leaving Kilrush at 13:00, Cost 5 euro) and an illustrated tak on the Shannon dolphins at 7:30pm on Saturday evening.

On Sunday 1 May the official opening of the new Dolphin Trail in Kilrush at 14:00 will be followed by a marine costume parade at 15:00 and lots of activities including bouncy castles, face painting and much more.
